“DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY”
The year is 1956, and Carina Burman’s “Death Takes A Holiday” follows mystery book reviewer Florrie Granat, who takes a trip from Stockholm to Rome under doctor’s orders. When one of the passengers is taken ill en route Florrie’s suspicions are aroused, and one by one she reveals the secrets of the colourful cast of fellow passengers. But could it really be happening like the plot of one of her murder mysteries?
It was a pleasure to illustrate this delightful and beautifully-written story, with my take on a 50s mystery cover; bright and sunny but with a dark shadow looming in the background. It’s painted in acrylic on board.
