Front and back cover illustrations for the album “Häxor” (“Witches”) by Mattias Alkberg.

The cover illustration was a kind of stream of consciousness response to the themes of the album’s songs, all of which are written from a woman’s perspective. Stylistically it’s a blend of Hieronymous Bosch, Jack Kirby’s comic book art and black light posters of the 1970s.

The illustration was made in ink on paper then coloured digitally. I also applied a process to achieve the printed comic book feel.
