Does Tinder make you a more superficial person? Illustrations for an article in Dagens Nyheter Lördag in which writer Nora Adin Fares explores her relationship with dating app Tinder, an often dysfunctional relationship which goes through five distinct phases: Dopamine rush, Choice overload, Disappointment, Tinder fatigue and Acceptance - before the cycle starts all over again.

I made an illustration for each of the five stages. I’ve always loved advertising mascots, inanimate objects that come to life and sprout limbs and try to sell you products; so I pictured Tinder profiles with arms and legs walking around town - or is it that real people have been reduced to superficial, two-dimensional images?
